The Manly Junior or ‘MJ’ is a 2.6 metre (8 ft 8") sloop rigged training boat with a main, jib and spinnaker and is suitable for both learning to sail and race. It is sailed by a crew of two under 16 years of age. The Manly Junior’s buoyant hull makes it an ideal sailing trainer and helps develop skills and team work in comparative safety.
The MJs have a strong national class association that runs zone, state and national championships every season. Dinghy Sports is proud to be the official class builder of Manly Juniors. The Dinghy Sports Manly Junior is built in foam sandwich fiberglass construction using the highest grades of fiberglass and resin available. The use of vacuum bagging to produce foam sandwich hulls and decks has proven to be a strong durable and light way of building racing dinghies. The boats are available from bare hull to sail away. |
